Black and White
A black line
In the middle of a white canvas.
Just waiting, for somebody to add more colors
 More shapes and brush strokes

 A line of black words.
In the middle, of a page
 Waiting, for somebody
 To read them.
 Or somebody to write more

 A black cord
 Connected to a microphone.
 Waiting, to carry the sounds
 And hear the sweet music.

 A black line of thread
 Attached to a needle.
Weaving, in and out of fabric
Hoping to become a ball gown.

 A black strip of film
Waiting, to be cut and altered.
Just waiting, to make people laugh
 Or to make people cry.

 A black piano key.
Laying next to all the white ones
Waiting, to be played and used
 To make beautiful music.

 A straight black pencil mark
On an otherwise empty piece of paper.
 Waiting, to become a building.

 A young girl
 Staring up at the world.
Just waiting, to become an artist.
