You Didn't Even Say Goodbye
She let herself feel alive,
Feel that tingling sensation in the pit of her stomach,
Feel the urge to smile and to laugh...
And you didn't even say goodbye.
She couldn't help but feel better
every time he showed his face.
She thought she could trust this man
who listened and helped and praised.
But he reminded her once again
how easily one can be phased
by just the simplest of words
and the kindest smile plastered upon a frowning face.
She let herself feel alive,
Feel that tingling sensation int he pit of her stomach,
Feel the urge to smile and to laugh...
And you didn't even say goodbye.
She thought she could be happy,
she could remember the loss of pain.
She thought she might be accepted,
despite her problems and her insanity.
For the first time in months,
the hidden eyes of her lovely Shade
were no longer haunting her dreams.
The pain was beginning to lift and leave her veins,
but you didn't even say goodbye.
