Hatred as Love
You call me on the phone,
Tell me to come home.
Why?
Why should I listen when all you've done is hate?
You twist my emotions
With words and notions.
Why?
Why would you do this unless you want my hate?
You hit me so swiftly
In anger, you hurt me.
Why?
Why would you do this unless you want my hate?
I reveled in my longing
For a sense of belonging.
Why?
Why is your love so similar to my hate?
But then I comprehended
That it had finally ended.
Why?
Why did she stay so long if all he did was hate?
I once was blind, but now I see
That love can be melancholy.
Love and hate are two sides of a coin
And hate and love are combined, conjoined.
