Nothing to Hide
I was a boy
Of no merit,
No worth,
A boy who was shunned;
For many years
I was cursed.
My eyes were filled up
With anger,
With tears.
I longed for someone
Who would take
All my fears.
I was a boy
Who was bullied,
Harassed
A boy who was stunned,
Who was thrown
In the trash.
My heart cried for love,
My soul
Ached for care
I knew there was more,
But I just didn’t
Know where.
Then out of the blue,
From the pain
And the dark
I suddenly knew
From the depths
Of my heart
I was not alone
In my pain,
In my fears.
At last I had found
Someone to
Take my tears.
You found me when I
Was needing
You most,
When I couldn’t see past
The chains
And the ropes.
But now I can see
That I’m worth
So much more.
You tossed me a line
And helped me
To shore.
You helped me along,
In my times
Of dismay.
It had nothing to do
If i sinned
Or i prayed.
You took me in
Broken up
Bruised inside
And i finally knew
I had nothing
to hide.
