In My Igloo
On artic nights
I wait for sunshine
I wait cuz that's all I can do
Can't pray about it
Cuz no god is right for me
Won't hope for it to come faster
That light died out long ago
Will never hold the weatherman's promises near
Cuz promises only cool ignorant flames
So I curl up in my igloo
Shield my ears from the violent winds
And half heartedly wait
For golden rays
For dawn
For chirping birds that I fear got lost on the way
But I refuse to move
I'm waiting
Praying
Hoping
For some warm proof that I am wrong
