the darkness
My dreams have been plagued by the emptiness
A place with no hope and no light
I open my eyes to the darkness
That fills up my room in the night
The dreams that have past now still haunt me
The nightmares that loom in the air
I reach out for your hand in the darkness
Only to find it’s not there
the memories are slowly returning
And skipping a beat of my heart
I remember the screams in the darkness
And the nightmare in which I took part
I remember the icy cold water
And the awful sensation of dread
That the darkness was closing around us
And making us both sink like lead
I simply can’t stand to remember
The memories so icy and black
I call out for you hand in the darkness
But only the silence calls back
