Lake Michigan
A soft white sheet lays everywhere
Lingering is the smell of fresh air
The repeating crashes make me smile
To see someone, you’d have to walk a mile.
The best part of all, a simple little breeze
makes me feel so much at ease.
A gentle breath, a soft whisper,
Just small enough so I cannot hear
From the long endless blank stretch,
To the colorful horizon that’s etched
From the waves coming ashore
To the singing birds galore.
I love the beach, I feel so at home
I always want to go alone
Everything is so precious, so perfect, so nice,
It makes me grateful I can live this life
I blow a kiss to Lake Michigan away
Knowing I will return soon enough one day.
