Holding On, Yet Letting Go
Holding on, yet letting go
We always seemed to go with the flow
The good times we had are long gone
Just like you, yet I’m still holding on
Holding on, yet letting go
It may seem eccentric but you’re still here
Living in my heart and rolling down my cheek
The tears that I cried should have drowned me long ago
Because if they did, I would have let go
Holding on, yet letting go
The ghost of your eyes still stare into my soul
You live in my mind and haunt my dreams
But you’re long gone, you’re practically dead
Practically dead to me
Holding on, yet letting go
Our parting didn’t go to well
It seems as if you stabbed my heart with the sharpest blade
Leaving a deep wound, soon to be a scar
Do you even know what you are?
You are gone, yet I’m still holding on
Holding on, yet letting go
When I finally come around from this horrible tragedy
I shall let go and you shall be free
I won’t bother to cry or to even breathe your name
For I can’t hold on, I must let go
