Sand and Arrows: The Hourglass and the Clock
Sweet smell of happiness,
Childhood seems farther away.
As the hourglass drains itself,
Memories are wilting with days.
And in times of stress,
My mind and thoughts were contorted.
For a breath of happiness,
To my short-lived dreams I resorted.
Exposed to reality
Disposed of the carefree
Planted in from of me,
Molds what I should call “the enemy”
Two arrows, twelve numbers.
A mechanical clock ticking frivolously,
And the sand of the hourglass sinking gently.
Stale scent of happiness,
Absent warmth, I can’t explain.
As the hourglass drains itself,
Memories are fading away.
And in times of distress,
Mind and body--maximum exhaust.
It didn’t take too long to confess,
That against time I fought.
Meaningless matter
Material things
If they are shattered,
Time will not seize.
Two arrows, twelve numbers.
A mechanical clock ticking frivolously,
And the sand of the hourglass sinking gently.
