The life of the tree
As the wind passes through your green hairs
You sway to the side
Yes you lean very humbly to the ground
as if you were nothing
but a poor begging servant
working day and night to get a piece of thin, skinny paper
to indeed in disgust you do not accept for it is
made out of you!
You sigh and work a lot by a sunny hot day
And a little by dark night
to produce something that was used up by those,
those humans! All that hard work for nothing
down the drain! No! No!
No! now they’re are cutting you down
for you’re fresh lumber…
Alas, goes another one.
