Downward
Blurred vision, vivid thoughts
Faceless people gathered in silence
Standing in a puddle of tears
Ashes sit undisturbed
Descending the endless staircase
Candles produce dim light
Stumbling blindly through the dark
They say, too young to understand
Perhaps they’re wrong
descending the endless staircase
A content child forced to mature
Almost eight pondering the meaning of overdose
His voice still resonating through mind
So close yet so far
Descending the endless stair case
Can’t ever remember but won’t forget
A face so clear that won’t be seen again
Feeling isolated
Stranded in misery
Descending the endless staircase
