On a Clear Night
Come night, now,
When the waves seem to slow.
And the depths of the mind
Glow as bright as day.
When the breeze seems to flow,
Swishing sands of time forward, behind
My sure footsteps in gentle fray.
Cooling waters sweet softly low,
Tired motion to find,
White warmth first falls prey.
Then to reach lower and dimmer glow,
To mix underfoot for another day.
