Raining Beauty
Abandonment creeps through houses
Streets lay dirty and deserted
Plants and animals seek the shade
Life in the town seems to fade
A little girl wanders into the despair
Hope gone, head down
Walking without a reason
For it was the gloom season
An unfamiliar rumble shakes the sky
Startling gloom out of its home
Looking up, the hopeless girl
Is surprised to see clouds cover her world
Joy dances in her eyes
As clouds break open
Releasing torrents of rain
Washing away the years of pain
Humans and critters alike
Warily step out
Cautious of the rain
Cascading down
They greet the rain, as if an old friend
Smell the rain, a fresh fragrance
Each wet pearl, transparent and round
Fall in chorus and pound the ground
Life pours out from everywhere
Streets strain under the weight
Animals feed on lush vegetation
Life in the town is a celebration
