My Dream Job
Growing up, I believe I was a typical boy
who dreamed of being super hero.
Growing up,the type of super hero I wanted to be
changed monthly or weekly
Growing up, my super hero depended on
what was on TV or came out on DVD.
There came a time where I realized
that these super heroes, that I idolized
didn't exist in our real world.
There came a time when I became concerned
about what I really wanted to do in life.
Until one day I saw a man
take my mothers receipt,
count the items in her cart,
and proceed to draw a line on the receipt.
I thought to myself, " I can do that."
On the way home, I asked my mom
if she thinks that would be a good job.
She says I need to keep searching.
There came a time when I realized
that the answer was always in front of me.
My dad is a fireman,
I always admired him and his profession.
I guess I'm not too far
where I first started.
Even though the super heroes
from movies don't exist,
firefighters are true everyday heroes.
I'm okay with not wearing a cape.
