The Long Walk Home
How can you look me in the eye
And straight up lie
I don't wanna play your deadly game
But I only have myself to blame
You came from my own desire
You're such an amazing liar
You took my hand when I felt alone
Then you cut me right to the bone
You whispered to me in the dark
And branded me with your mark
You gave me all my scars
As numerous as the stars
Right from the start
You tore up my heart
You made yourself seem shiny and new
But I hate me when I'm with you
But I'm starting to see
That you don't own me
A war was fought
My soul was bought
Through the death of God's son
The war for my soul was won
The very thought drives me wild
That I, a lowly sinner, am God's child
God tried all my tears
And calmed all my fears
He cleaned out my dirty soul
And with Him I finally feel whole
