Rusty heartbeat, dimming veins
Quivering lungs, bruised brain
Skin twisted, wooden grain
Dying candle, sputtering flame.
Shivers trickle, lightening down my spine
white panic from the dungeons of my mind
I struggle, try to keep the bones aligned
But my beating heart is counting down the time.
Hands twist, sharpen down to bony claws of white
My muscles dissolve from holding on too tight
I am ravaged, ruined, wrecked, and decayed,
Raw heart, still beating, bony cage, displayed.
I lie as still as death in silent sheets,
Wrinkles crease my hands, flesh paved streets.
The crowds, they pump the medicine inside
They say I’ll feel no pain but they lied.
The children gather, anxiously around
And wonder if I will make a sound
But the room is spinning round and round
There is something in this air and I have drowned.
Rusty heartbeat, dimming veins
Quivering lungs, bruised brain
Skin twisted, wooden grain
Dying candle loses
flame.
