Sonnet
I spent a hear there
Darkness and depression prone
In a place called foster care
I spent nights cold and alone
Potential happy memories, gone
Wishing I'd never left home
Sleepless, waiting for the dawn
Wanting to go home
It took a year
But they finally let me go
They realized I had no reason to be there
I stopped sinking low
I'm thankful that I am back where I belong
Even though it took so long

I had to write a sonnet of something I am thankful for in English class. This is what I wrote.
