Dear Self,
Today you have been introduced to the world.
Mother is fatigued,
Father marches to the office back to work,
Brother is reunited with his Legos.
And you?
You lie in the crib with innocent brown eyes.

Dear Self,
Little children run then fall around the house.
Different colored balloons fill the living room,
Sweet, sweet cake is on the table, starring you in the eyes,
Suddenly four flashing candles disappear to smoke.

Dear Self,
You are heading into your junior year of high school,
Walking the halls, brushing arms with the same people,
Eating the same lunch, hearing the same lecture.
You're back home and add an X to the calendar,
Only 359 more days.

Dear Self,
It is move in day,
Mom and Dad hug you one last time before it is goodbye.
Different faces, a different atmosphere, a different you.
You decide that this was the right decision,
You are content.

Dear Self,
You get in your silk robe and add the layers of tassels.
You make your way to your seat, where grandma and gramps can see you best.
Speeches are made, tears are shed.
A plethora of caps fly into the cloudless sky.
Tomorrow is a new journey.

Dear Self,
Are you lost?
