A Mother and her Daughter
Waves crash quietly onto the shore,
Birds call to each other in the distance.
 Pale sand tickles their toes,
 A mother and her daughter.

 Water kisses their skin
As the breeze wisps through their hair.
The same shade, same strawberry blonde,
 A mother and her daughter.

 Who would have known?
A girl, only eighteen years old,
To a young child so much affection shown,
 A mother and her daughter.
