Inevitable
Climbing, climbing, the pulsing wave towers over me
Terrified, my arms slash through the blue water
They cut the waves, smooth and crisp
Sliding softly they reemerge; the water shows to trace of disturbance
Climbing, climbing, the pulsing wave towers over me
My legs beg to move but despondency quickly approaches
Caught between two rugged rocks, my ankle tugs
The monolith stretches, growing taller, reaching closer
Water fills my lungs, my bronchi moaning for life
Quickly, quickly, the wave begins to drop
Velocity synthesizing with gravity, drowning is ineluctable
