Two Sides
At home, just a unloved troublemaker,
On the highway, just another driver,
In school, just a 1.0 student with 200 IQ,
On Earth, just another messed up human,
You think you know me just by gazing
But look again I’m just a undeveloped book.
My future so bright I’d probably go blind before I blink twice, I ain’t lying
I swear to God half of ya’ll just don’t know me
My life is just a tug of war between being sober and drugs,
Nowhere in the world where I can call home,
All my friends are the definition of fake,
Every part of my body aches,
No one I can turn to for help,
Got a dad but never learned his name,
Didn’t care about school because I got bigger problems,
Everyday I’m ready to end myself but I just don’t have the guts.
My future so bright I’d probably go blind before I blink twice, I ain’t lying
I swear to God half of ya’ll just don’t know me
All these problems with no solution until I met her,
She was an young beautiful restaurateur,
Never in my life, I had someone to talk to,
Never in my life, I felt that there was hope,
Never in my life, I thought I would have a wife,
Life took an 180, now I see a future.
My future so bright I’d probably go blind before I blink twice, I ain’t lying
I swear to God half of ya’ll just don’t know me

The piece I wrote was following a writing style called BOP poem. I first heard about this style in my creative writing class and found it very interesting. I decided to write one and share it with others, hoping that they would also enjoy it.
