Favorite Quote:
sometimes you get the best light from burning bridges.

I’ve always known you were going places.

Since the beginning of sixth grade, you showed

Every sign of having a bright future ahead.

Not only were you insanely intelligent,

But you also had an amazing sense of humor

And a bright and daring personality.

Everything about you screamed

“I’m going somewhere in life,”

And nobody ever argued against it.

You left this impression on people for three years.

But the closer we became,

The more I saw through your lame mask.

I saw your sense of humor morph into crude comments

Directed towards those you hated.

Your daring personality screwed you over

When you decided to start a new habit.

A new habit hidden by your insane intelligence,

Which I soon realized was literal insanity.

And I can’t put your mask back on.

I can’t change you either.

I can’t because it’s difficult to have heart to heart

Conversations when you’re thirty eight miles away

And in another universe.

So when you get the chance, peak your wise a** head down

From the clouds and just think.

Think about the things you’ve said.

Think about the choices you’ve made.

Think about what in your life you should change

Before the bright future turns into a dark black hole.

Because once it does, there is no turning back.

I’ve always known you were going places.

But right now, it seems like you’re on the wrong path.
