A Tale of Dreams and Honey (Peter Pan's Ballad)
He wakes among the moonbeams,
A tale upon his tongue.
It tastes like dreams and honey,
so sweet the world feels numb.
He flees upon the dawn glow,
daylight piercing cloud.
It lays on him a halo,
a ghost of him once bound.
He leaves behind a remnant.
A shell of what had been.
So many try to see it,
But none have caught wind.
His dreams are not yet realized.
His path is not yet clear,
But joy has never left him,
and he has cried no tears.
Many have heard of Peter Pan, but do we know how he became the flying boy we all know? I have been in love with fantasy and fairy tales since I was a child. The tales of fantastical creatures and stories of powerful magic never fails to make me smile. But now, as I am older, my dreams of fantasy have turned to writing and things like this, a poem of Peter Pan's story.
