The waves flow back and forth from shore to sea
The ripples grow and build ‘till they burst out
The drops that sting my flesh: just one small fee
To pay for surging warmth that flows throughout
My mind and soul, so blind to all but you,
Ignores the salt, the dang’rous depths, the lies
And then waves go and with them joy leaves too
Wet salt now only flushes tearful eyes
Yet, when they go, the sparkling sand appears
Through eyes tear-soaked the white sand gleams more bright
I glimpse the beauty that now only leers
Beyond my grasp and barely out of sight
Although I know the waves will never cease
I stand and walk away to find my peace.

Magnificent. A combination of ballad and sonnet. Nice work!
