alice tells me a story
in agony this morning, Alice rose from bed
and in her grief and fury Alice lost her head
she cut and hacked each and every precious lock
as her clock screamed tick-tock, my dearest, tick-tock
with each snippet and snappet she abandoned heart
Alice held her breath, straightened her back and played the part
Alice’s level mind and fiery soul have long since fled
her heart crawled in a body bag and played dead, dead, dead
