The Broken Hearts Sestet-The Prisoner's Lament
These drawings are chains
 This picture is the lock
 These things I look at
 Seem to at me mock

 I try to stay away
 I run from them fast
 But this I can't forget
 These things of the past

 I hold onto these things
 And almost it seems
 The times of long ago
 Were all but a dream

I need someone to help me
Get rid of these things I love and hate
To get rid of my past
 and escape this twisted fate

All I want is to have
 Things that were left behind
 Given to me by her
 She won't leave my mind

 Until I can find
 And until I can learn
These things that now bind me
 Until then can't burn

The one person I can't leave
 The one I can't forget
 Can only be replaced
By the one I just met
