He marches through an open arch
and bows adoring crowds
into a frenzy
of cheers.
He doesn’t know that I watch for
him to make just one more
mistake… like
yesterday.
He billows away with a smile on
his face, so fake like
the start of his
new reign.
He doesn’t know how to run the
world. When a king
can’t even run
a castle
who does he call on but me? I’ll
do the work while he
feasts on tiny
peasants.
