Scarlet Red
I wandered to my room
Wanting to crawl into a cocoon
I looked at the blankets on bed
They were scarlet red
I kicked clothes out of my way
Why did I try saving the day?
I lay as if I wasn't there
No one seems to care
My mind drifted off to a better place
I tried not to picture my face
Apparently I started screaming
Was I dreaming?
It wasn't me crying
It was my parents watching my dying
There was a little pain in my head
I must be dead
Hands were all over me
As if saving me was a key
A key to a locked door
That no one uses anymore
My parents screamed out “Why?!”
As I was dragged outside
I could see the moon
The town instantly went into a gloom
My body seemed as heavy as lead
Considering the blood kept dripping from my head
The blood was the same color as my bed
My favorite color, scarlet red.
