Thanksgiving Time
The autumn leaves are turning red
 The relatives are here
The turkey now is freshly killed
The air is filled with cheer

 Cousins aunts and uncles bow
 Their heads over the feast
Give thanks for what we’re eating soon
And all that God has leased

A turkey run in the morning sun
 Had started off the day
To burn off all the calories
So we aren’t ashamed to weigh

The turkey may be dry as bone
The pies burnt to a crisp
Those things they just don’t matter at all
For the lessons we have learnt

Surpass by far the value of
 The greatest feast on earth
 Thanksgiving teaches each of us
 What love is truly worth.
