Ballad of Autumn
Hay bale pyramids
and cotton sweaters
Picking a Pumpkin
Writing letters
Pillow forts and
masquerades
A playground for witches
and candy trades
Leaf ridden paths
gold as can be
skeleton bones
up in a tree
Thick woolen tights
boots up to here
Oh Autumn
what a sweet time of year
Auburn smells
and branches strewn
I dance on gravel
look at the moon
Nothing warmer
as tart apple cider
tangible taste
feeling much lighter
The tricks we play
and boos we get
oh great jokes
made of wit
I want to stay
among my dreams
but fall isn't
made of seams
