I Imagine...
I imagine you here holding my hand,
While using the other to give me a wedding band.
I imagine you holding me from behind, my head tucked under your chin,
Your very breath warming my skin.
I imagine your lips against mine,
Thanking the Gods as the stars seem to align.
I imagine years from now, our hands hath withered and tan of age,
Still together in victory against others’ doubt and rage.
I imagine you holding my shivering body close,
Out of all cute girls it was me you chose.
I imagine your hands slithering down my side,
Only for me to sadly remind you that there are rules to which we must abide.
I imagine us cuddling by the fire on a cold Christmas Eve,
Reality says no but his I will achieve.
I imagine your heart beating for me,
And mine for thee.
All this I imagine
And it seems that that’s all it will ever be.
