"And though she be but little, she is fierce."- Shakespeare

Dear People,

We are the children of last week

The children hooked on phonics, just learning how to read

The children of last week and the young people of tomorrow

Not living on time we borrowed, but given us by the God of the sparrow

Young men and young women to rise up and take the lead

Abhorring hate and violence, covetousness and greed

Cuz we're living in a place where every gender, every race gets shot down to our feet

The day is bright, yet there's no sight of correction or retreat

The blood of boys and girls spills out, in turmoil their bodies writhe

Young man, did you commit this crime? Yo, I plead the Fifth

Mothers cry out for their little ones as cops come to the door

The news each day of new foul play says this class must be more

We have to act on our thoughts and plans cuz

Tomorrow's not waiting to hold our hand

Tomorrow will go and the day after that

Unless we hit the ball right off of the bat

Charade our visions, make the right decisions

Avoid any collisions with the perfect precision

We must also remember it's not me, myself, and I

As a team we will win, as a team we will fight

The class of today will bring the change of tomorrow

Living on that time given to us and not borrowed
