The friend you used to be
We used to spend no time without each other.
We would talk for hours and hours.
About how we were going to grow up to be famous together,
with tons of money in our pockets.
You would always make me laugh and smile.
Nothing else in the whole world mattered to me,
besides our friendship and good times.
We would talk on the phone and text for days straight,
About anything and almost everything.
I loved your company and being with you.
You made my world amazing,
And gave me everything I ever wanted in a best friend.
Until the day I saw you out with someone else.
She was your neighbor,
Someone who I thought you barely knew.
You started to hang out with her,
And talk about your future together.
I got no more texts or calls from you.
You never said “hi” or waved to me in hallways at school.
You started to disappear from my life.
And eventually you totally diminished,
Along with my ability to trust and love someone.
