The Midnight Date
Before a moon sprouts out like a flower,
The horizon darkens under the safety of the sky.
We sat on the beach,
Listening to the rows of waves crash into the rocks.
The sun slowly fell to the other side of the world,
Giving light to those living on the other side.
Crickets chirped as a sign that the world that once was lively and awake,
Has gone to sleep,
Yet we remain.
