Grandmother who
Was funny, smart, and interesting
who told new stories every day is gone
I sometimes hear her sing her very special song
Grandmother who
is ice in kool-aid
and is rubber bands and the first-aid
doesn't say goodnight
She might whisper in my ear and
tuck me in tight
Then with her Angel wings, take off in
flight
Grandmother who
is peppermints, money, and family
is in Heaven with the others,
like Langston Hughes, Maya Angelou, and
one of the Jackson 5 brothers
