Boardwalk Blues
Born to run
to go and have my fun
Burning my feet
running through the blazing heat
Sweat on my face
as I sprint to my fun place
Kids screaming
the sun brightly beaming
Big wheel turning
school’s out, no learning
The smell of food
surf’s up, dude
Bright colors everywhere
roller coasters high in the air
Funhouse of terror
as if the creator’s made an error
Cotton candy weaving
until I get it, nobody’s leaving
Upbeat music
break out and lose it
Warm winds swirling
little girls hopped up and twirling
Sunglasses necessary
let’s get some helpful dairy
Ice cream sounds good
full of calcium and my childhood
Ocean roaring
people with kites soaring
Suntanning lazily
kids waiting in line anxiously
Dogs fetching balls
you can’t keep between confined walls
Everyone smiling
the weather has good timing
Such a bummer
that it’s not even summer
