I am from Her
I am from the day we first met,
the silky black spring jacket,
the white cotton top and light blue jeans.
I am from our first kiss,
while laying in her white bed,
the one that neither of us thought existed.
I am from our first date,
the night when I asked, “Will you be my special someone?” and,
the night she said yes.
I am from the days we didn’t get along,
the days we felt separated,
the days when our friends didn’t accept us.
I am from the milestones in our relationship,
the ones we’ve checked off,
the ones that still yet to arrive.
I am from the the months together,
the days that intertwined,
the untold hours I’ve gotten to know her.
I am from her personality,
the one that shines so intensely,
I am from her.
