You’re gone and nowhere to be found.

I cry into my mother's arms while I look for you in a hospital room.

You let me wander around looking for a deadbeat.

You tried and tried to buy my love instead of trying to earn it.

But I don't do busted LG’s any more

You had me think you cared

but it was like you were thin air.

My mother is around and that is all I need because I’m done wondering about a deadbeat in need

You’re below average

and I'm a mature young girl

without the deadbeat in need. No more pain you should be ashamed

you missed out on a lot of things. Good thing mommy daughter dance became a thing

Your no muscle

your no man

you really are

just thin air.

My mother is a strong

mature

beautiful women.

Who never tried to buy my love

but cared for it and definitely didn’t try and abandon my love.

you will never get to know what an amazing young girl I am with a strong heart. You’re nothing but a bum dad.

You can have fun with your new little ones and

I hope you actually stay in their lives

cause no child needs to hear lies.

All my life I wanted you to be there for me

turns out you need therapy.

I’m not gonna waste my breath on the rest

but just know you won't get me at my best.

The author's comments:

I'm 14 years old. I go to Forest Park middle school in Illinois. I currently have blue hair. My piece is about my dad that was never really there for me and it really had an effect on me. I just wanted to write about how I felt about the whole situation.
