Clink. Drip. Bang!
Clink. Clink. Clink.
My chains rattle and the damp cell echoes my every footstep.
Here, in the darkness, I am alone with only my thoughts to keep me company,
Outside, I hear the distant sound of laughter.
Drip. Drip. Drip.
Laughter?
What even is laughter anymore?
It’s like a long-forgotten melody, one that will forever remain forgotten.
Clink. Drip. Clink.
In my world,
It’s almost as if the sun never rises,
And the night never ends,
Drip. Drip. Clink.
I am the dirt of this world,
dirty, forgotten, unwanted,
and useless.
Drip. Clink. Drip.
Meanwhile, they’re the gentle breeze I never became,
Carefree, playful, and immature,
The complete opposite of me.
Clink. Clink. Clang.
I will never feel the gentle breeze against my skin,
nor will the sun rise,
or the night end,
Drip. Drip. Drip.
I will forever remain dirt,
useless, unclean,
unwanted.
Clink. Clink. Clink.
Although dirt helps plants grow,
and blossom,
but I will never be fertile. Not like them.
Drip. Drip. Drip.
Clink. Clink. Clink.
Clink. Clink. Clang.
Clang. Clang. Clang.
Bang!
Clang..
Clang…
...Thud.
