A Tree Hidden in the Green

There’s a peculiar tree, where
deep within the oaks, it lives free.
Ever since the phase,
when everything turned ablaze,
leaves crumbled to cinders, with piles
of ash scattered in ruinous tinders.
Yet this twisty tree remained in a mangle,
with branches spewing in every angle.
Still, it persevered and stands proud
just like the day it emerged as a teeny sprout.

There was this tree within a local park that I was always fond of. After the Woolsey Fire, I went back to this park, only to find the tree still standing.
