A Letter to the Love of my Life
Hey,
Yeah, it's me... again
I'm not really sure where to start, but
Just know i appreciate you,
More than an introvert appreciates a rainy day
And more than an extrovert loves getting the lead in the school play.
I appreciate you for all the curves and all the edges
Your perfect imperfections run circles around my head,
Like a dog chasing its tail.
See, when I was younger we had a family dog
She passed when I was 15...
At that time I thought that would be my hardest loss,
But then I met you,
And you sent my life in a spiral in all of the best ways possible.
Love and loss are scary,
But with you it’s a fear i’m willing to overcome,
You’ve accidentally taught me how to live my life without letting fear run me down,
That’s a favor I could never repay,
Not even if I had all the time in the world.
See, everyone has time, some more than others
But no one has an excess.
Now, I have no way of knowing how much time I have, but I’m more than willing to spend all of my time with you.
I feel as though our love, the love we share, is something out of a storybook
A calculated caricature of pure, absolute happiness.
