I’ve learned to get out of a conversation
Before I even say “Hi”
Before I realize I’m too tired to talk
Before I feel bad for tuning my friend out
I’ve learned that life will end
Before I know it
Before I learn something new
Before I can say what I feel
I’ve learned to say the first word
Before they even say “Hi”
Before I realize that I don’t care if I’m tired
Before I regret having one less conversation
With a friend
