After Daylight
During the day Im lost
While I'm trying to find my way through the light
I still seem to face obstacles even though it's clear to see
I bump my head due to such spite
I wish to see something better each time
But my senses seem to play in my demise
Entering that daily ponder
I begin to wonder
If I’ll ever see something more immense than what i’ve received
At the dead of night I prepare for my stroll
Hoping that whatever is in store for me
Doesn’t take a toll
Walking in the darkness next to a decrepit house
The sound of heavy barking far ahead
Light breeze grazing my face, sounding like light whispers in my ear
Resulting in me grasping my blue hoodie
So many things to be apprehensive about
Except I'm only full of anxiety for what I may oppose
I look down at my feet and I become distracted
Looking at my dingy white vans
Dark dirty bands across the strings
And I feel a tap on my shoulder
I see a familiar man
Skin brown, haircut low, and a nice tidy Jogger suit
I look him in the eye and tears begin to form
I finally found you.

This poem is based on a girl searching for someone very dear to her. She hasn't seen him since she was merely a young girl. So when she grew older she decided to search for him. She faced obstacles while looking for him. While adding things to my writing, I decided to add more diction to help the reader visualize the scenes.
