With shortness of breath, I'll explain the infinite- how rare and beautiful it is that we exist
By sleeping at last

Caring, gentle and understanding you always are

Your life a tangled rope, a struggle

An insecure, uncertain path

Was he your hope, a shining jewel?

A solution to at least a few knots. A way out?

A sidewalk which led to endless dependency

The wrong type of love.

Your happiness depended on him

Neither friends nor work nor happiness paved your road.

Instead the cracks grew bigger.

Your accent thick and dumb in a country you couldn’t call your own.

Then I came tumbling out like Alice In Wonderland.

Now you depended on me and I on you

Gum to nipple, you to him

Was I your way out?

Oh what a wrong doing!

For more life leads to more heaviness

The way a flowers neck breaks at the weight of a bee, clinging.

But worry no more for soon it is time.

I will spread my wings and walk my own path

Not one of dependency, unhappiness or escape

Dare I say your life was close to failure

We, your children your ultimate hope

Will soon come a life of loneliness?

Will the sad lonely sun rise and sink?

Each day and night feeling unaccomplished?

And realise that life is so much more.
