How
Identity. The fact of being who or what a person or thing is.
Is it really that simple
Just be who or what you are
You can’t possibly just simply be who you are if you don’t know yourself
You can’t be yourself if yourself tells you, you're a fraud
You can’t be yourself if you're not happy with yourself because of society's restrictions
There’s homophobia and racism and body expectations
Can you be yourself if you can’t express it
They have as my mother once said “first the gay war and now the sex war”
Although it truly is a battle that shouldn't need to be fought
Like The Civil war a fight for human freedom the choice seems obvious
We have body images of what “beauty” is and how they think all women or men should look
People who are look different it can be genetics, disorders, and other stuff they can’t control
They want you to be happy but if you get stares from walking down the street and the degrading names, how can you
“Is” is what’s wrong with that definition, is seems like you are what you are but sometimes people won’t accept it either themselves or people around them
truly the entire definition is wrong humans could never possibly be true to themselves entirely
Shouldn't it be; Identity. Knowing and expressing to others who or what a person or thing is
Hi. I don't know how good I am at poetry and etc but my teacher has us write these and told me I should submit some so here it is a poem on Adolescence and Identity
