Watercolor Mountains
Shadows empty your silhouette
dreamy and cloudy and swollen-filled.
Thoughts linger while the mountains turn purple,
my heart swells black and blue.
Deep in the depths of my mind worry spreads
and my eyes go blind.
Dawn turns spools of moonlight into puddles of sunshine;
never any snow on this Arizona faultline.
But now I can't sleep without the rain
pitter-patter, knocking on my terrain.
