Silver Lining
An exhausted traveller,
in search of a haven
with no house in propinquity,
his ray of hope diminishing to oblivion.
Our lives have taken a similar turn,
clouds of uncertainty hovering over our heads
all we need is a ray of sunshine
someone to fish us out instead
Angst and worry will take us nowhere
They are the devil’s food
so don’t sulk and sit somewhere
liven up your mood
Fill your life with positivity
fill your soul with love
stray away from pessimism
embrace felicity, even when it’s tough
Regression to the mean, statistics say
(things tend to go back to normal)
how long will the virus sustain?
even the world is ephemeral
It’s time to overshadow the negativity
and let’s see how it works
It’s time to see the silver lining
COVID-19 too has its perks
Babble with your distant cousins
catch up on their lives
boast of your cooking skills
with the uncles and their wives
Test your flair for writing
instigate your artistic revival
try hip hop, jazz, and ballet
or sign up for a recital.
A quintessential time to workout
the adrenaline rush is ineffable
then calm yourself with meditation
and heaven will seem approachable
Leisure around all-day
you finally have the time
set a new book record
experiment with languages for a while
go on a cleaning spree
renovate your home, make it pristine
Look around, see the world in a new light
you don’t have time to dissipate
so stop that lamentation
accept life, before it’s too late.
