Take care of your brother
He is immortal
A million stars’ worth of shine
Listen to him
He isn’t a wrapper
To crush under your careless feet
Or an odd piece of gravel
To throw into the creek scum.
He is an evergreen
Feather soft with candle sheen
Baby pines and tangled vines
We are all made of tough wood sap
Stretching toward stars.
Whatever you will hope to find
You’ll find it in the care of another
Boil me
In the evergreen tea
Of kindness.

is is fantastic, its so beautifully worded! why is it not editors choice??
As you can guess from my other poem, "Evergreen Cabin," I looove evergreen trees. And I think evergreen sounds much grander than just calling them pines.
