Christmas Lights
The suspenseful car ride, all wearing Santa hats.
We make a quick stop to starbucks,
for a holiday drink.
We take the drive singing holiday songs such as,
“All I Want for Christmas is you” and “Mistletoe.”
We arrive in the long line of shining lights.
Looking out the back window of the car, I can see the story they are showing.
Looking back in my memory I notice the feeling is different,
The older I get the less fun it becomes.
Looking out of the car window is not as fun as it used to be,
Maybe this year I will try something new.

This poem is about holiday traditions and how as you get older some of them do not seem as fun as they once were.
