"Force answers force, war breeds war, and death only brings death. To break this vicious circle one must do more than just act without any thought or doubt." Khan, Metro 2033 by Dmitry Glukhovsky

A husk among the trees

A fallen god

The rusted hunk of steel stands solemnly

Its wheels not halted

The world moved on

From the era of steam and steal

To the now

A now soon to be forgotten

A now soon to be rusting

Another rusting hull within the trees

Nature takes back what we took

All we may do is wait for it to the same to us

Soon another

Another will stand in my place and write about our steal now corroded

The author's comments:

This poem is about the movement of time. The past takes the form of a steam locomotive. You see through the eyes of a watcher. Finding this once great thing is now being taken back. A death if you want to see it like that. But the spirit will remain within the forest and more will be added from the present.
